Digit FMS is responsible for the manufacturing, importation, programming and testing of all products we sell. Almost all products, except for bespoke solutions, are kept in stock at HQ and many of the branches hold stock as well, which usually means orders can be filled at very short notice. The branches are all independently owned franchises and follow a defined company policy to offer a similar service and pricing structure across the whole of South Africa and neighbouring states.

Development and planning started in 2006 in the Gauteng suburb of Clayville East, where the founder Rordon Cowley and friend Reinhardt van Zyl, started manufacturing from a residential garage. The company was formerly registered in 2007 and the first distributor branch established in 2008. Over the past few years the product range has grown, branches have exceeded 100 and a new bespoke head office facility was built in Glen Austin which was completed in August 2021.

Digicell has grown to include a dedicated team of staff which includes management personnel, financial administrators, software and hardware engineers, marketing specialists, technical and training support staff, as well as IT and development experts. Due to the modern ability to communicate electronically, the team is spread all over South Africa, with HQ staff being located in Midrand, Cape Town, Centurion, Pretoria, Johannesburg, Neslpruit, Boksburg and Ballito. Branches vary in size from as small as single operators, right up to teams exceeding 10, bringing the total team to over 300, with a phenomenal combined knowledge base. The team continues to grow in numbers and knowledge, so we are always looking for new members.
